๐๏ธ How to Make a Good Confession
1Examine Your ConscienceReflect on your sins since your last confession using the Ten Commandments or another guide.
2Be Truly SorryHave genuine contrition โ sorrow for offending God, not just fear of punishment.
3Resolve Not to Sin AgainMake a firm purpose of amendment โ a sincere commitment to avoid sin and its near occasions.
4Confess Your SinsTell the priest your sins clearly and humbly. You may confess behind a screen or face to face.
5Accept Your PenanceThe priest will assign a penance. Complete it as soon as possible after leaving the confessional.
๐ฟ Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen.
