Abstinence from Meat
All Fridays during Lent. Catholics 14 and older abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent. Outside of Lent, Fridays call for some form of penance.
Fasting Days
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting for Catholics ages 18–59. Fasting means one full meal and two smaller meals that together don't equal one full meal.
Holy Days of Obligation
Catholics are obliged to attend Mass on these days: Mary Mother of God (Jan 1), Ascension Thursday, Assumption (Aug 15), All Saints (Nov 1), Immaculate Conception (Dec 8), Christmas (Dec 25).
